Hi,
Go to the very beginning of the file with control home. Then, go to the track in question that has the unwanted program change event. Then, press control f to go to the find dialog, then in the list, select program. Press enter. Now press control l to go into the event list, and go through until you see a program change. Press d for delete. The reason you probably didn't see it was you didn't look at absolutely everything. Sometimes program changes are hidden among a bunch of other junk which can be difficult to wade through. If nothing was found, or it didn't solve the problem, try looking for a bank change. In the find dialog, select control chng and in the number edit box, type 0. In rare cases a bank change might also be changing things, although it is very unlikely, especially in the example in your message.
HTH.

Subject: QWS List Program change issue

Hi All,

I have opened a MIDI file in QWS which has program change info embedded in it before the first beat. For example if I have a viola track in the original file and I change the program to banjo, this program change message in the track right before the first beat always changes it back.

In other software I have worked around this by finding the program change message in the Event list editor and deleting it.

In QWS when I go to Edit> Event list I see volume and note messages but no program change message. Where in QWS can I go to find and delete this?
