Hi,
The only way I found to do it was to go into the engine menu, then wave, then record. It will record to a temporary file, and to stop you go to the same menu and choose stop. It's pretty self-explanitory from there. You can also use the midi player to play a midi file, or the wave player to play a wave file, and you can even sync the two using some of the sync options. All of this can be done in the engine menu, either under the wave and midi submenus, or within the main engine menu. You do have to check or uncheck some options in those menus too, but since it's been a long time since I did it, I forget what options to mess with. You might also need to adjust some audio settings to make sure you are recording in stereo with the appropriate bit depth and not multichannel or something, again I can't remember where those are. I wish there was an easier way to record to wave, since unfortunately without asio drivers, everything I use in realtime doesn't sound too tight, although some things are pretty close. Most of the programs I use do have a direct to wave feature or something like that, which fixes this, except vst host. So, what you hear coming from vst host is pretty much what you get when you record, except it is perhaps a little cleaner, and it minimizes some of the buffering noises if your buffers are a little too short. There is no background noise unless it is produced by the VST itself, so stereo mix would not be an issue. I can do other things while it is recording, so long as it doesn't use too much resources and make the vst studder or freeze for a short time with midi.

Subject: QWS List render to wave with VST host

HI everyone,
First, sorry for little off-topic, as the VST host is not a main topic of this list. Can someone tel me, how to record the midi file to wave from vst host? is it possible to not play, but dyrectly record wave, for example from the SFZ? I see the recording submenu here, but i tryed some steps but didn't have any idea, how to do it. I don't want to record dyrectly from my soundcart, because during recording from the stereomix, it produces a annoing noise - not too loud, but still annoing. thanks

     Ondrej
