Hi,
I believe this is there so that when you select a program and bank
combination that are not in the list, it can show up as a blank entry to let
the user know that they are using something not defined in the list. My
guess is, if this were not there, a screen reader might just read one of the
instruments in the list, and the user might think they are using that
instrument instead of the program and bank combination they have selected.
It's sort of like the -1 thing with track properties, it means that it is
left where it was. At least this is how I interpreted all that.

Subject: QWS List Question about instrument definition lists in track
properties
Why is it that instruments always show up with an extra blank line in
the first position of a patch list for an instrument? Both my synths
show up like this, with one blank line at the top of each one. Very
odd. Did I put something into the instrument definition that shouldn't
be there, or in the wrong format?
