Glad to hear it. Normally Bassmidi seems to cooperate and wouldn't
exhibit such behavior randomly.

Yeah, it was the synchro start issue. Fixed now.

Subject: Re: QWS List The Sound of Silence
Hi,
This hasn't happened for me in a long time.
I highly doubt that the volume for the devices has been modified since it
still works in other players. QWS, to my knowledge, doesn't tamper with
those settings, it doesn't even come close.
Here's some things I and other friends have done to get things working
again.
1. Try having multiple programs use the same port. Sometimes a port needs to
be activated by a program that works with it before it works in QWS. For
example, play a midi in Winamp and QWS at the same time, and see if you hear
two different songs going at once. I only had to do this with Microsoft
Wavetable, and that was on my old desktop which is now about to go into a
garbage dump, and never had that problem since. So, it's a rare thing. Here
are some other things to look at.
2. Check that synchrostart is disabled in QWS. It's easy to enable it by
accident and not realize it. Of course if you use it a lot, you should
continue to use it once you've figured out if things are working properly.
3. Delete the qws.cfg file. This will remove all of your user settings.
It will not, however, delete any instrument lists you have. you'll have to
go and set them back up, but the lists themselves will still be there.
4. If nothing else works, reinstall QWS. Back up your instrument lists from
the QWS folder, as you will lose them. That's something I wish wouldn't
happen.
and if still nothing, then it might be an external problem, although I don't
see how a device would all of a sudden decide to go on strike when used by
QWS.

QWS has stopped responding.
I get no sound from it either using BassMIDI or the Microsoft GS
Wavetable Synthesizer. MIDI files still play in Winamp, as does all
other audio. I've changed nothing on my setup. Files I got full
response from a couple of days ago now give me nothing.
Any ideas?
