Hi,
I was trying to explain this a few weeks ago, but I think I was way too confusing. Bassmidi reads banks differently than they are in the soundfont. This is to make it more compatible with GS instruments I believe. In soundfonts, banks go from 0 to 127. And some players read them that way. but in Bassmidi, the banks get multiplied by 128. So, instead of using bank 1, you would use 128. Instead of bank 4, you would use 512. And, bank 128 in any GM soundfont is the drums, but in bassmidi you can only get to these with channel 10. The bank doesn't matter. There are some patches on that bank with the ONJ font, so that's why I bring it up.

If somebody could tell me the format for bassmidi, maybe I could

I can't seem to figure that list out for myself. I get a general MIDI map,
which seems not to be reflected anywhere on the list from what I've seen. (That
said, I haven't gone through all 128 banks)

And a question of my own: Is the instrument list for ONJ Soundfont working
correctly for everyone using Bassmidi? After the Wind chimes, it seems like the
instruments go back to the first ones to me...

And, if you know you won't need to use any of the soundfonts in the
list for a while, just remove them. They will only be removed from the
list, not deleted from your hard drive! I know it's pretty obvious,
but I actually thought that it would delete the files when I first used it.
another thing to be careful with, sometimes the config window crashes
if you're not careful with the up and down buttons. So, only use them
when needed, and don't try to move something up or down if it's
already at the top or bottom respectively. For me at least, that has
sometimes lead to a crash.

Try moving the soundfont you added down. The bottom one always
overrides the top one.

Subject: QWS List bassmidi issue

Hi everione,
First, I'm sorry for this little off-topic, as this is not dyrectly
related to QWS. Today i installed a Bassmidi but i am comfused of
way how to change soundfonts. I noticed, that every soundfont which
i open is added to a list. I can move soundfonts in this list up or
down or completely remove it from this list. But when i add other
soundfont, remove everithing from this list and click apply,
Bassmidi still plays from the previous one. Is there something what
i forgot to do to change soundfont?

    Thanks,

    Ondrej
