What type of music are you trying to do? I've done some dance rhythm stuff using traditional rhythms, and I also have some Sufi rhythms I've done as well, but you have to have the right sounds to do this, and it'll take a bit of searching. I use BassMIDI and sound fonts for my sounds in QWS, so I had to find the right soundfonts to realize the music with the right sounds, and in some cases I've had to just use something close. (Like using a bassoon or English horn sound for a mizmir)
