Yeah, it'd be kind of cool if QWS (or any other MIDI sequencer, for that
matter) could record elimination tracks.
Say you have a melody and a chord pattern. You want to strip the melody out
of the track, so you create a track where you play just the melody. (after,
of course, saving the whole track on another track) You record the
elimination melody, which strips the melody out of the track when you run an
elimination tool on it, where you specify the target and source tracks, the
target being the track modified and the source being the source for what
needs to be eliminated. Now you've got a chord track alone. Then if you
wanted to make sure your melody track was exact instead of just approximate,
you'd run this again, with the chord track as the source and the saved
complete version as the target, and you'd get a clean melody with all the
controllers and other such stuff in place.
This would make MIDI editing work like audio, with the use of out of phase
tracks to eliminate lines.
I've never encountered this in any sequencer, though, but I can't imagine
it'd be too hard to create.

Hi,

You can try the Key Split, or the Delete Notes, or some of the other Split
tools.

Unfortunately, splitting left hand and right hand automatically is an almost
impossible task, because the hands can move around and in one place the same
note can be played with either hand. You can even have pieces where the
hands physically cross over!

Hope this helps.
