I just looked at the code for QWS: for Local Off, QWS does send a
controller 122, value 0, MIDI channel 1.
Actually, you're not the first person to say that the message doesn't work
on their gear. It think it might be a gear problem, not a QWS problem, e.g.
it might need to be on a different channel, not sure.
Regarding MIDI THRU, QWS has a THRU option, on the MIDI menu, default is on.

I agree, it's got some really good sounds on it. I tried inserting
controller 122, but it hasn't worked. I noticed though that the instrument
I'm playing in QWS is being sent via the Thru port, even though the
keyboard only has MIDI In and Out connections, which are going to my
M-Audio Audiophile 2496 card.
