Eric, ok--well, u don't specify what kind of laptop you've got, so I
can't give a lot more detailed instructions, except to say the
following:
1) Most laptops have a "function" key, often designated as fn,
generally right next to the control key. Hold that down & press f6.
2) Some laptops have means by which this constant pressing of the
function key can be avoided. On mine, for example, when I press the fn
& esc keys simultaneously, I can now use my function keys normally,
w/o the need of holding down the fn key. I have to do this at the
start of each windows session, but at least I only have to do it once.
HP is noted for putting this option in bios, which is inaccessible to
us.
