Hi Jackie and Eric,
I have this feature on my Mac, but I didn't know that it also existed in Windows as well. That might be what you might be having problems with all this time. F1 opens up the health tree view, and F6 opens and closes the viewing area for that particular topic.

Eric, ok--well, u don't specify what kind of laptop you've got, so I
can't give a lot more detailed instructions, except to say the
following:
1) Most laptops have a "function" key, often designated as fn,
generally right next to the control key. Hold that down & press f6.
2) Some laptops have means by which this constant pressing of the
function key can be avoided. On mine, for example, when I press the fn
& esc keys simultaneously, I can now use my function keys normally,
w/o the need of holding down the fn key. I have to do this at the
start of each windows session, but at least I only have to do it once.
HP is noted for putting this option in bios, which is inaccessible to
us.

HTH.

Unfortunately, using f6 and enter just mutes my speakers and doesn't
open the help topics.

Hi, Eric, & welcome to the list. & no--the welcome's unofficial, as I
have no position other than that of a member. To answer your query,
though, f6 & enter should head u in the right direction w/the help
file.

Hi, new to the list and QWS in general.

Seems a bit of a learning curve, but I'm wanting to try composing midi
tracks.

I've had a little trouble opening the help file. I use NVDA, and I've
forgotten how to open the help topics to get the tutorials.

Thanks.
