Does QWS respond to MIDI system common messages like Start, Stop, and pause? And yes, being able to define a controller to tempo would be handy, as QWS can map any controller to anything else. That said, it might need to have a scaling factor involved -- using a single controller to do this would be too few to cover the range needed, while a high-definition controller would show no change for a wide band of values. Though I doubt anyone would use tempo values of 1 very often, I can think of situations where it might be useful, say for a fermata as one example, and tempo values go way above 127 -- I've seen them at 320 in a particular tune. (Though nobody, even the Basie band, played that tune at tempo, so it was a goal to strive for, not one anyone I've heard reached, even though we got close in high school)
