Hi,

Sorry, I have never used Reaper. I understand you can use it with QWS but I
have never tried it.

The general process for using a VST with QWS is described in the article on the
QWS website about using VST instruments.

You need:

* QWS
* VST Host
* A virtual MIDI cable.

The virtual MIDI cable I used until Windows 10 was called MIDI Yoke. For
Windows 10 I use LoopBe.

Then, in QWS, go to your Options Ports and make sure the virtual ports are
listed. If they are, make sure to disable the Input virtual ports - otherwise
you'll get feedback.

Next, you need to configure VST Host. Instructions are in the article, but
menus may vary depending on the precise version of VST Host. Make sure that the
audio destination is right and the MIDI input is right.

Then you need to load the VST into VST Host, use the File menu as usual.

You then need to set up the MIDI input for the VST, if I remember, in one of
the other menus you can set the MIDI source etc.

If you have chosen a VST which you have to configure then good luck because
many are not accessible. I cannot describe how you should load something within
the VST, because there are so many and they're all different, and many are not
accessible. However, some VST instruments simulate a particular synth and don't
need configuring - others can be configured with data files. Again, I cannot
give any detail about the actual VST instrument.

Hopefully, with all the connections made, you're good to go.

You can save the configuration in VSTHost, so you can quickly load everything
again next time.

I hope this helps.

With best regards,

James.
