Thanks. I thought I did that before but, when I did it just now, I see there
are files scattered all over the drive.

Thanks for your help. I'll get to backing up those files now.

Best,
David

Do a search on mid and this should turn up where it's storing them on the
hard drive.

Thanks Nicole,

I tried that but the midi files (except for the demo song) were not copied.

Not sure what to do except open each file one at a time and resave each into
my new directory where all new midi files show up.

I've searched around the OS for anything related to not seeing files in File
Explorer but none of those tricks work either. Plus, I've got all filetypes
and their extensions to show... it's just not making sense.

I did have a problem a couple of months ago where I had to uninstall and
reinstall QWS several times to get QWS to work. The issue was that, when I
opened a new track, I couldn't edit the name of the track or the midi
channel. I'm glad my midi files were retained through the uninstall and
reinstalls (even if only through the Save dialog) but it's just oh so
perplexing why I can't see those files in File Explorer.

Any other ideas?

I do appreciate your expertise,
David

Go into the QWS save dialog and hit your backspace key. That'll give you an
idea of where the program is saving the files. That's a persistent space, so
you'll want to go back into the QWS directory. However, before you do that,
open up where you want to back up the QWS files, select the QWS directory in
the QWS save dialog, and copy the directory before going back into it. Paste
it where you want to save it. This works because the QWS file windows are
active windows and all standard windows commands work. I use it all the time
to move things around, rename files, and do other stuff. Handy.

I can create midi files in QWS and save them to the QWS directory and I see
all of my midi files while I'm in the Save or Save As dialog.

Thing is, when I traverse through Windows 10 "This" and find the QWS
directory, I don't see any of the midi files.

My intent is to back up those files but I can't find a way to view the files
to backup.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!
