Dear all, We’re excited to announce our upcoming online course: Species Distribution Modeling with Bayesian Additive Regression Tree (BART) Methods. Dates: 22–24 September
Course website: [ https://www.physalia-courses.org/courses-workshops/barts/ ]( https://www.physalia-courses.org/courses-workshops/barts/ ) This course will introduce participants to BART, a powerful and flexible machine learning method increasingly used in species distribution modeling (SDM). You’ll learn how BART improves over traditional SDM methods and gain hands-on experience using the embarcadero and dbarts R packages to: Select informative environmental predictors Train and evaluate BART models Predict species presence or absence from new data Interpret and visualize model outputs This course is ideal for advanced students, researchers, and professionals with prior experience in SDM and working knowledge of R and RStudio. If you do not have prior experience with SDM, we have an introductory course on SDM the week before: [ https://www.physalia-courses.org/courses-workshops/course45/ ]( https://www.physalia-courses.org/courses-workshops/course45/ ) Best regards, Carlo -------------------- Carlo Pecoraro, Ph.D Physalia-courses DIRECTOR [email protected] mobile: +49 17645230846 [ Bluesky ]( https://bsky.app/profile/physaliacourses.bsky.social ) [ Linkedin ]( https://www.linkedin.com/in/physalia-courses-a64418127/ ) [[alternative HTML version deleted]] _______________________________________________ R-sig-ecology mailing list [email protected] https://stat.ethz.ch/mailman/listinfo/r-sig-ecology
