The voting process being discussed is to replace the current Steering Committee. The Steering Committee oversees the Editors Committee and deals with the overall Scheme language standardization process. Replacing the Steering Committee does not necessarily imply anything about R7RS, other than what was stated in the Steering Committee's announcement: "We believe that the R6RS is not the end of the Scheme language standardization process, and that the Scheme language must continue to evolve." > I humbly suggest that the R7 process should start sometime in 2010 > rather than today. That might be a criterion to use when deciding on who to vote for for membership on the new Steering Committee. Although I somewhat doubt that there are many people champing at the bit to start on R7RS tomorrow.
