You have me listed as the "implementor" of GNU Guile. That's only slightly true, anymore and therefore a little bit unfair.
It is true that I started the project (forking Mr. Jaffer's SCM for that purpose). It was quite a few years ago that bad things befell me and I was forced to step away from the project. Others have maintained it since so my shares of credit and blame are substantially diluted :-) (Specifically, I rather dislike some of the major decisions made after I left the project and I rather admire some of the other decisions. In any event, it is very different from what would be had I not had to step away.) You have a "?" for whether or not I voted for R6. I'm not sure it matters but I *did* vote for R6 but for a particular reason: I don't like several aspects of R6. I think things are mess. I do think that R6 makes some progress in some areas. I voted in favor because I felt the R6 process had become hopelessly dysfunctional and that the cleanest thing to do was to get it over with and move on. R6RS is, in my book, simply a true statement that that is what the R6 process produced. I like that (and didn't know) Guile has such a (relatively) high Freshmeat popularity ranking. It's an impressive achievement of the maintainers and contributors after the time I left to be in such a state after so many years. (So it makes me a little uncomfortable to be listed there, in that way.) -t On Thu, 2009-08-27 at 10:30 -0700, Joe Marshall wrote: > I largely sat out the R6RS process.
