Or you could support my proposals, and then insert a cond-expand at the
top of your code that would check that the %bignums feature was absent.

There is also Chicken, which is fixnum+flonum unless you load the optional
numbers egg (though Chicken's compiler doesn't deal in unboxed floats,
so float performance isn't what it could be).  On a smaller scale,
you can recompile Chibi with "#define USE_FLONUMS 0".
