I am sorry,  noe of the examples explicitly addresed my problem.  Comment on
my following config:

**radius.cfg**

       <AuthBy UNIX>

               Identifier Check-UNIX
               Filename        %D/users
        </AuthBy>

**Users file**
tunde   Auth-Type = Check-UNIX
        Service-Type = Framed-User,
        Framed-Protocol = PPP,
        Framed-IP-Netmask = 255.255.255.0

***  The system does not authenticate with these settings.  Is there
anything wrong?
