The auto dimming does just get a bit too dark for me at night, I can't quite make out the clock. Mind you I want it very very dim because I'm a light sleeper.
During the day when any light hits it the unit becomes unbelievably bright. Hopefully we will get the ability to set a minimum and maximum bright level and still let the auto adjustment do its thing.
