If possible reflection, etc could be the cause of the problem you should test it in a pitch black closet or similar away from your face an reflective materials. That way you can distinguish between faulty hardware versus light feedback issues.
I checked mine from a foot away. It's definitely visible; but it definitely wouldn't bother me - I may not be very sensitive.
