You need a PC to listen to BBC iPlayer Listen Again. To listen to BBC "Listen Again" you need to install the BBCiPlayer plugin on your PC NAS. You can find the BBCiPlayer plugin on WebUI Settings/Plugins - check the BBCiPlayer plugin and then click Apply - SBS will need to be restarted.
To play BBC Listen Again - the player needs to support the protocol being used which is currently RealAudio, Flash/AAC or Flash/MP3 (UK only). From Mar 2010 RealAudio will be dropped and WMA is supposed to replace it. The older generation of SB players does not support RealAudio or AAC so transcode support is needed which is the main reason a PC is needed and why it made no sense for MySB to support "Listen Again". The new generation of players have the capability to support more protocols. Initially Touch and Radio only supported AAC and BBCiPlayer handled the Flash protocol and the audio stream was passed without transcoding to Touch/Radio. The latest beta have Flash protocol handled by Radio / Touch so the processing by SBS is now minimal suitable for low powered NAS based servers or even Touch. -- bpa ------------------------------------------------------------------------ bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=71706 _______________________________________________ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
