If you log into your server and go into settings for the player, you will see settings for remote. Uncheck both boxes there and save the settings. That will disable all remote access.
I have a similar situation in my bedroom. What I have done is set one to only respond to the squeezebox remote and the other to a JVC remote. By using my DirecTV remote and configuring AV1 for a JVC DVD player, I can use my DirecTV remote to control my squeezebox.
