Just want to report back that symlink works in the Radio and everything is working fine. Here is what I did to enable international language support in the squeezebox radio:
Warning: Make sure you have both FreeSans.ttf and FreeSansBold.ttf fonts before you reboot the radio. Otherwise, the radio will enter a cycle of crash and reboots. I was lucky to have ssh already enabled to recover from that situation by copying back the original fonts between the window of reboots. So be careful and try at your own risk. 1. Enable SSH remote login on the radio. 2. Use SCP to logon to the radio, browse to the /usr/share/jive/fonts/ directory. You will see 2 fonts FreeSans.ttf and FreeSansBold.ttf 3. Very important. Make a copy of these 2 fonts to a safe place in your hard drive. 4. Make a copy of the CODE2000.TTF font that came with Squeezeboxserver and rename it to FreeSans.ttf 5. Use SCP, copy the renamed Code2000 font to the /usr/share/jive/fonts directory to overwrite the original font. 6. Make sure that copy is successful and then close SCP. 7. Use Putty to logon to the radio. 8. remove the original FreeSansBold.ttf font (rm /usr/share/jive/fonts/FreeSansBold.ttf) 9. Add a symlink to the FreeSans.ttf font (ln -s /usr/share/jive/fonts/FreeSans.ttf /usr/share/jive/fonts/FreeSansBold.ttf) 10. Use ls to check that FreeSans.ttf font and FreeSansBold.ttf symlink are both there. 11. Logoff putty 12. Power off the radio, then unplug the power, wait for 30s, plug back the power. Remarks: You need to repeat the procedure if you ever do a factory reset. -- Honva ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Honva's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=14948 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=74977 _______________________________________________ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
