Just thought of a simpler option:

Most of the podcast software that downloads gives you an option to say
how long to keep podcasts. You could just let it delete all but the
most recent podcast?

Then setup an alarm that plays the particular artist\album on which the
podcast shows up as. You'll have an issue though if they change their
tagging of the podcast... Could perhaps try it to play the folder
which would be safer. Not sutre how though.

Alternatively:

I was going to suggest something like yahoo pipes. I have tinkered
with it but I am not overly familiar with it but there must be a
function to recreate the feed with just the last item in the source
feed.

Then you just need to get it setup as the source for an alarm.

Another long and contrived way (on the server):

Setup a podcast downloader in the standard way.
Setup automatic rescan of library every morning in the early hours.
Install erland's trackstat and dynamic playlist plugin. May also need
SQL playlist plugin.
Create a dynamic playlist containing the most recently added "song"
from the "album".
Set the dynamic playlist as a favourite
Then it will be on the alarm dropdown on the server.
Pick on the alarm as the sound.

All of the above applies to the server on your pc. Not sure how to do
this on MySB.com
