All my bug reports have been acknowledged ? You write a bug report then post a tread in forum linking to the bug, then it can be confirmed either by some power users on the forum or by popular vote. Then after a while it gets looked at by some dev, then it gets solved the same day or 6 years later ;) . If you post a tread with a link to the bug, you can bet that a couple of other users with similar problems chime in and post there logs or problem files etc, making it very likely to get attention. There is also support, you can have a support case logged . Btw write good detailed reports that *includes a way to reproduce the bug* including log files when it happens , if nobody knows how or what happened and it can not be confirmed by otherers, it's quite possible it can hang out there in some limbo forever. It must be possible to reproduce for others otherwise there is nothing to fault trace , then it often gets an an "works for me" conclusion, this can be a hint that it is not really a bug but probably something with ones own install, if it works for everybody else but not you (it can still be a bug,but how to proceed in such a case) . Try to avoid duplicates , search bugzilla and add to existing popular cases. Search in bugzilla can be a bit hopeless ,as I and some other non pro's users our own layman terms trying to describe things and are not native English speakers so it is not always obvious what a similar or duplicate issue is. Add the bug anyway somebody else will see if is a duplicate and merge it with something else. A large quantity of bugs are really support cases, I can quite easily see cases where users gets the usual AV software scanner issues and thinks it's a bug (it is but not in squeezeboxserver ). -- Mnyb -------------------------------------------------------------------- Main hifi: Touch + CIA PS +MeridianG68J and assorted amps SiriuS, Classe'Primare and Dynadio speakers (including a pair of Contour 4 ) Bedroom/Office: Boom Kitchen: SB3 + powered Fostex PM0.4 Miscellaneous use: Radio (with battery) I use a Controller various ir-remotes and a Eee-PC with squeezeplay to control this ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mnyb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4143 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=79559 _______________________________________________ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
