I've read several threads about hooking a SBR to a home stereo. I pulled out an old bookshelf receiver, a Denon UD-M3 which has lots of inputs and outputs. It also has a couple of small bookshelf speakers by Mission. I plugged the radio into the auxillary in using a mini-jack to RCA cables.
I wanted to have sound in the kitchen also and bought a couple of Brookstone Podz wireless speakers (discontinued but people seemed to like them and I found some used ones). The volume has to be turned way up on the SBR to get enough sound out of the wired speakers. If I make a mistake an don't turn it down if I switch to FM, I get blasted by the volume from the FM radio. Oddly, the wireless speakers sound better and louder than the wired ones with lower volume. I might have gotten a boom but we still listen to CDs on a CD player which is built into the receiver. I'm wondering if anything might help; different wired speakers? a different receiver? Or is this just a limitation I need to live with? Thanks. -- alake ------------------------------------------------------------------------ alake's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=34536 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=84136 _______________________________________________ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
