Because a lot of the state of the player is managed on the server, you will find that Squeezeboxes are quite chatty, even when in standby. If you do a network trace you will find that the Radio and the server are talking to each other all the time.
It is a bit of a hangover from the days when the Squeezebox hardware was a lot dumber than the Radio and all of the state management (including handling button presses, IR remote commands and drawing the screen) was done in the server. -- andynormancx Yes, it will.
