You only have to look at the "installed base" of local music out there
that people have paid for on CD and downloaded from online stores, not
to mention copied music. This is the only reason apple got anywhere with
the Ipod. It was the music already out there and owned that people
played.

The sheer mass of that music - available free - is something that would
take eons for cloud music to reach. 

Plus most people even in Western rich countries, have ADSL connections,
ie dog turtle upload speed, so good luck getting all that local music
uploaded in a cloud. 

I'd serve the people out there laready with music at home, instead of
this marginal cloud business, of which Apple will shortly eat up most of
the hardware sales anyway.
