And that's why they don't even make cheap consumer electronics really
serviceable anymoore the small surface mouth boards are one thing . But
they probably don't even publish any kind of service manual or
schematics ( to much work ) .

The Bill of manufacturing for a Radio ( not the price ) is probably a
tiny fraction of a work hour in the western world . So during warranty
they just replace it and the broken ones goes to recycling .

That is a bummer when you have legacy product with no current
replacement what to do ?

More expensive high end products products are serviceable , but they
have a build that looks more like it used to be :) in the old days . My
Meridian gear is modular on the inside , several sub boards that can be
replaced and power supply module .

I used to service industrial electronics large VSD system and stuff ,
but we exchanged whole circuit boards no soldering except in rare cases
with really old stuff . On older products we could the board to our
internal repair shop to get them fixed . But on more modern products no
one repairs circuit boards it always makes more sense to get a new board
, surface mount components and coating etc .
And the coast of manufacturing is cheaper than repairing besides the
quality standard can not be maintained if one tries to solder such a
thing .
If even possible to fault trace it's just a bunch if IC's nowadays ? You
may need some specialised test equipment programmed to test that
particular circuit board .

Powers supply circuitry may be possible to follow if you got the skill
and inclination , but if one of the smd circuits with like 200 legs on
it seems to draw to much power how to be practical about that .

So,it would be a hobby project to resurect such things good luck to
anyone trying .

A think the day of the repairshop is over , you just recycle stuff
nowadays .

OP keep us posted if do find out what's wrong , as there is no direct
replacement we migth see more people needing this info .

Cheers
