As far as the being on a RoR mailing list... I'm on the prototype/scriptaculous list :-), it just happens that it's a sublist off the RoR list. :-)

well, considering you ARE on a mailing list hosted by rubyonrails.org, I think
you're in the wrong place looking for allies. I'd personally rather keep the
list on-topic (prototype, scriptaculous, etc) than discussing rails vs .net
vs django vs java vs blah.
That's just me though.
