Hail Team-! What quality is it that joins the boys togather as a seamless group.. that makes for Joy and causes each a 'feeling that they *belong to something greater than what they can do themselves? What idea is it that builds respect from the team in it's elected Leader? What "emotion" is it that allows a boy to let go of his own view and expand his spirit to embrace others as trusted friends and allies? ...and what thin patina of self is it that we lose when we join to play the "game"? If a "Leader" is one who knows all the answers, and in whose judgement we trust.. How did he come to be so wise? If we learn by doing.. how can we become effective leaders without experiance beforehand? *I was out on a Lake this weekend in Oregon as Canadian geeese flew over headed south.. Someone mentioned that the v-shaped flight was called a "gaggle"<G> and I began to think about Pioneer boys<G> I noticed that the geese flew in a formation, to break the wind for the others behind them.. and the Leader led on point, then as they tired they flew out and around to the rear of the formation, replaced by a new fresh leader.. I thought about this.... How is it that geese can join a group, and fly alone under their own power yet be led by a volenteer not intent on domanation. I wondered, what would the Outpost be like if every boy had a term as "Leader".. -=*=- ===== *High MORALE is the Index of effective Leadership. --------------********+********-------------------- Morale raises belief of the Leader in the follower, of the follower in the Leader, of each in themself, and both in the .....cause! __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
