Alex is a intresting little boy..

He comes from Hawaii and like many boys today,
is hyperactive and on medication. He has his moments..

I'm his Adult patrol advisor, and was called over recently
when Alex had a butcher knife out of the Patrol box and was
swinging it around in the camp..

"*RELEASE!" I commanded.. and he did..
Alex will not get the cut and chop card<G>

Yet.. Alex is about to recieve an award for courage and merit
for his swift actions in saveing another child at school from
chokeing by use of the "Hymlic manuver" his Teacher backed his
actions in a letter. It was amazeing, that he calmly did the right
thing.

But.. this weekend-

Alex came out the back of the Lodge and struggled to put
on his boots. An older boy passed and I heard him say..

"Hey! Can you tie my shoe?"

What would your Outpost do?

1. Refuse.. because he needs to learn to care for himself?

2. Tie his shoe..
