It looks as if we have lost EXIF data from PNG exports at this time. The data was being written through some past updates but now it only appears that a small amount of XMP data is being written.
It has been suggested to me that PNG format, with its rather poor compressibility, may not be the best storage format considering today’s ever increasing image sizes. My past experience with the many flavours of TIFF has created a personal aversion to that form. Your comments would be appreciated and I would be interested to know whether there are intentions to incorporate other formats at some date.
