I may be wrong but the method of adjusting exposure/contrast appears to
have been changed in the most recent (stable) version. As I remember,
exposure, previously, simply shifted all of the data to a lighter (or
lower) level; while contrast only 'pulled' the tail down but did not
shift the data head.        

By comparison contrast now appears to expand both ends of the data.
If I am right, there must be some logic in the change and I would be
interested to know the reason.         

In my processing I found it really comfortable to move up the exposure
with the 'exposure mask' in place until I got the colour warning then   
adjust the contrast again until the warning appeared. I now find myself
juggling back and forth between the 2 controls, which is a tad more
fiddly.
