There is no difference between the 2 images ... tiff and png
My problem lies in trying to manage the different formats.
I use Digikam for management purposes (were that there was an
alternative) and would have liked to be consistent regarding file
formats. I do also use Darktable for some colour work.
I use png from Darktable and have used this output form from all other
programs in the past ... all with png that included compatible
metadata including tags, ratings etc.
It appears that I need to use tiff output from RS in order to have
both exif data as well as tagging information which then would bring
some degree of harmony to my files.
I was always under the impression that tiff was not 'universal' in its
format ... possibly I have been mis-informed in this matter.
