Thx Doug but the connect issue happens on the local server as well from time to time so network is not an issue.
It is not a regular thing as time of day or day is concern. Just happens randomly. I have checked all the pcs and ran diagnostics and nothing is appearing in the logs. Everything else is running without reports of errors. I have also turned on the timeout setting to see if it helps but it did not help. If it's "regular", does there seem to be a day or time of day issues occur? Or did I take that too literally? Was there a new machine added/moved coincident with the onset of this problem? Or any other significant environmental change? Is there cabling near fluorescent fixtures or any eqp with (large) electric motors? Bad cabling connection? NIC gone bad? (More likely on older machines w/out built-in NIC) Is only RB affected? Everything else running ok? Also we get a lot of “cannot connect to database” when opening rbase or compiled apps. I have checked every computer to see if there are any issues that connect to it as well as power saving feature, moved the database to a new server without any luck. I get the “cannot connect to database” on the server that is running a compile app locally from time to time as well. I have done a complete database unload/load several times to find any underlining errors but no avail. It is like a needle in a haystack and it is frustrating. I was thinking something to do with our Anti-virus(Avast for Business) but the server is not running one. Anybody have any pointers on how to figure it out the source of corruption?
