Thanks for your help.

Your solution was the same as one I had tried previously that did not work.
So I realized I was at least on the right path, and the problem must
lie elsewhere. I tried reformatting the time from "HHMM" to "HH:MM", as
shown in your graphic, and it worked like a charm. Problem solved. I am
embarrassed to think of the amount of time I spent trying to find a
solution only to have it turn out to be so simple. I agree with you that
the time setting - at least intuitively - should not make a difference,
which is why I never tried changing it. But it seems that it does matter.
Go figure.
