Looks like the 6.1a (1998) installer is NOT fully compatible with the latest MS Windows XP operating system. You'll need the latest and greatest 6.5++ installers, fully compatible with Windows 98SE, Windows NT/2000 and Windows XP. See .. now that you have upgraded your operating system, how could you expect 1998 version of R:BASE and the installers to work? Wouldn't it make sense to upgrade to the latest version of R:BASE?
