Looks like the 6.1a (1998) installer is NOT fully compatible
with the latest MS Windows XP operating system.
You'll need the latest and greatest 6.5++ installers, fully
compatible with Windows 98SE, Windows NT/2000 and Windows XP.
See .. now that you have upgraded your operating system, how
could you expect 1998 version of R:BASE and the installers
to work? Wouldn't it make sense to upgrade to the latest
version of R:BASE?
I wouldn't be surprised that 6.1A installer isn't compatible.
It's not that *I* am not upgraded, but I still need 6.1A version on my
computer because I do have some clients still on that version. If they
try to go to XP, then they'll have some problems and hopefully will
upgrade!
I haven't tried an ODBC install yet with my 6.5 CD. I don't even
remember which version of 6.5 it is because all my upgrades were
done via downloaded patches. Am I going to have the same problem
when I try the ODBC install from that CD?
Do you think the 6.5++ installer fix my 6.1 problem?
