Marc,
It's frustrating when you can't be there to see what they're doing!
Something had to have changed - things don't just 'start to happen' all
by themselves.
My only other suggestions, which you may have tried already:
1. Make sure they can print test pages from windows successfully after
setting up the network printers.
2. Are they trying from the R:> or the application? At the R:> try
OUT PRINTER
DIR *.APX (or some other extension that doesn't have too many
files)
OUT SCREEN
Then try PRNSETUP, changing the printer and doing the same output
If your app has OUTPUT LPT1 instead of OUTPUT PRINTER, maybe their
workstations are not capturing the networked printers on port LPT1 -
depends on the operating system / network. Try it both ways to see. (I
think the prnsetup window will show you a port if it's capturing it
correctly.)

Subject: [RBASE-L] - Prnsetup & Printer problems
Hi
I have some more info on one of my users printer problems.
They have 4 computers, the printer is connected to the back of 1
"workstation". They have 3 printers setup on each computer, the only
difference is which try each "printer" will use.
They can print OK to LPT1 but when they use Prnsetup to pick a different
printer (tray) nothing gets printed.
I thought it could be the drivers on that computer but they say all
computers have this problem and of course it use to work but just
started messing up.
I told their computer tech, to try the same thing in Word on all
computers, delete and reinstall the printer drivers.
any other suggestions?
thanks
Marc
