I miss that old magazine - it always had some useful tips and hints as well as informative articles.

Maybe it would be nice to resurrect it in an on-line format? Published once a year, twice if there's something special, keep it informal but informative. Written mainly by us with editorial from RBTI. There must be enough people out here who could write a short article every so often - adapt presentations from whatever sources.

I've no idea what subject but I'll offer to write something to get the ball rolling if there's any interest...

Regards,
Alastair.

The important issue I wanted to stress for Dan is getting the complex calculations out of the report expressions and instead presenting the report writer with a dataset that looks pretty much like what you want the report to look like.

Well said.  Many years ago the "Microrim Exchange Magazine" featured a series of articles and discussionabout optimizing RBase.
So many users don't undestand the different ways a particular requirement can be programmed in RBase.  Unfortunately this list isn't condusive to discussing optimization issues.  It isn't like the days of the magazine when a author would research a topic and show different ways of implementing a requirement along with timings of the differences.
