I am probably quite late and don't know all the details of what you are trying
to do, but we have all our state sales tax forms and our state and federal
quarterly reports loaded into Rbase as an image. We use them as background to
run all those reports.
They work perfectly and are accepted by all those gov agencies. Beats filling
out all those by hand, and NO typos.

I put in an enhancement request to allow importing of pdfs for use in
reports, as well as suggesting that RBase have an option to generate
editable forms, as reports, using the Adobe LiveCycle system, some months
ago. When I last looked I saw that these were both 'slated for RBase V9', so
hopefully the features you are after will be available in the future.
Perhaps Razzak may be able to let us know when the new version is likely to
be released ?

A custom program would have to be written to read the structure and elements
(objects) of the PDF Form, then propagate as closely as possible the
representation of those objects and their layout in the textual
representation
of an RBase Form.
When you consider the nuances (properties) of each of the elements of a PDF
form, you can imagine the task to reproduce / interpret it into its RBase
(or
any other ) counterpart is less than trivial.
