Bill:

If there were already reports with the same name in the other database, you 
must delete them first before you bring in the new reports.  If you don't 
delete, it loads duplicate rows; sometimes your report will come up okay and 
other 
times you get that exact error message.

I'm not sure about the "as ascii" option -- I've never heard of anyone using 
that for reports.   Also, rather than "input"  try  "run reports.dat".  I've 
never been a fan of input, don't think I've ever used it.
