David,

The source and destination database is the same. I had to re-create the old
database in order to cleanup some problems.

I had unloaded forms from the old database using "unload data fro reports
whe rname exi" . I then loaded them into a blank Reports table using "Load
reports fro reports.dat". I also tried run and input commands. It seems
that for a few reports loaded this way I got the "Report data is incorrect"
error message. I verified that the report had valid column names and
variables as you suggested.

What I ended up doing was recreating the entire data base with unloads and
loads except for Forms And Reports, which worked out well. I'm just trying
to keep this database in good shape until my client decides to upgrade to
the latest and greatest.

Thanks,

Bill Eyring

Hi Bill,

I'm not sure if you resolved your dilemma but would offer that I have seen
the message "Report data is incorrect - check the data" and find it is
common to reports that reference fields that do not exist.

Could it be that the database from which you took the report has fields that
the database you are importing to does not?

As for the ASCII, I haven't tried that on reports or forms. I just UNLOAD
DATA FOR REPORTS to a file and then INPUT or RUN the file into the new or
other database.

I hope this helps,
Dave Fitts

Subject: [RBASE-L] - Loading Reports Rbase 2.11

I have a Dos 2.11 db that has good reports that I need to load into another
Dos 2.11 db.

I matched the null and character settings in both databases. I have tried.
Null is set to -0-.

"Load reports from reports.dat as ascii" - unloaded as ascii "Input
Reports.dat" - unload all from reports

Most reports have come over ok, but there are some good reports that when
opened in the 2nd database give an error of "Report data is incorrect -
check the data". I have also tried bringing the problem report over
individually - no luck.

Can anyone help ?

Thanks,

Bill Eyring
