Sharon, If you make the input field a monospaced font such as courier or one of Microsoft's other monospaced fonts and then size the field to accept the exact number of characters base on column size then when the user types on the maximum allow characters they will be forced to the next input field.

Problem is that on the form I can type indefinitely.far past the designated number of characters. Of course, the number of characters that get saved is only the designated size of the text column.
