Thank you, Karen, and all of of you that offered your suggestions. I created
the new column and am very happy with the results.

To avoid the problem you mention, you cannot create a computed column with a
defintion of just .#DATE. You would use the second computed column definition
I had in my email which would update the column only if it's empty.

I am concerned about James' caution if I create a new .#DATE column, then
have to use RELOAD and RESTORE, which would reset all the dates? Is there any
way around that? I have been backing up my databases only by backing up the 4
files, but if I do unload at some future point, would be nice to keep the dates
the way they are.

    THANK YOU ALL AGAIN!
