Then scratch files should not be an issue in this case.

Emmitt:  Scratch files go to the c:\temp directory, as I do with all my
clients.  So I wouldn't think that woudl be a problem, do you?   My
rbase.dat erases c:\temp\*.$$$ just in case.

If the R:BASE temp files are being created in their profile and not being
cleaned up, this could be exacerbating the problem.  If so, you might put
some code in on exit from your menu to find the profile path and del *.$$$
there.  Any open files will not be deleted, but they will the next time
around.
