Karen When I did my ODBC connection to MS Access I did need to change my character settings to confirm with ODBC standards it should be availbe in the help file.
I believe MS SQL is the same in this matter. This was 4 to 5 years ago so I cant really recall what changes I made, but if you stay on present R:Base standard you are on the safe side.
