I have been following this with interest.

So I'm thinking that if the compiler is used then
the EXE and DLL's would be on the local machine.
I also assume that the CFG would be local as well.
The database files would live on the server.

Would you create a shortcut and NOT include the -A?

You mention the exe's are saved to the Desktop. Where are the dll's
located?
I use the complier and as mentioned before, have seen this when my exe was
compiled with a different version than the dll's. Could it be that since
the exe is
on the desktop, that a older dll is being found somewhere?

I certainly have seen this error when I have compiled using a newer version
but forgot to copy the new dll's to the appropriate folders. OR copying
new
dll's and not recompiling a new exe can cause this as well.

Here is some more details related to the problem that I'm getting.
The DLL timestamp is from 1/11/2010 8:00AM.
I'm using 8.0.22.30111.
Scratch files are saved to %temp%.
I have the database do a weekly reload.
The database is over the network on a server. The are accessing with exe's
saved to the desktop created with R:Compiler.

I'm getting some errors on different workstations that don't appear on
others. Also doing the same thing on the problematic machine may or may not
cause the error.

What are some things to look for?

The error is usually "Access Violation" or "I/O error check for a full
disk". There is plenty of space of the harddrive though.

I sometimes find $$$ files that should had been deleted earlier but weren't.
Deleteing these files helps for a couple of days and then the errors come
back.
