Karen, I can assure you that using Excel is a no brainer in 7.6. I just
transferred an R:Base 6.5 inventory "system" to a POS system using a
spreadsheet output. It went smooth as a goose.

I actually AM trying to sell this 6.5 client on upgrading to 7.6,
and I'm using the "output report as excel" option as being
one of the benefits. But I have so far stopped short of saying
"I know I can turn this report into an Excel output" until I have
a pretty good chance of it working. However, I don't feel
confident that the client will go for it, but reasons I mention
in that last email.
Maybe I just have to suck up the time myself and see if I can
get the report to work. If they go ahead with the 7.6, then I can
charge for my time. If they don't, at least I will have had the
experience of doing it....
